Our History

Strasburg Pallet Company is nestled in a rural Amish community just south of Strasburg, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The company was founded by Reuben Beiler in 1964, which originally started as a working sawmill. When Reuben’s son, John was 14, he joined in helping his Dad and together produced the very first “Strasburg” Pallet. At that time, diesel-powered sawing equipment was used. With only 7 employees and a 30×50 building. 16oz. hammers were used to drive nails into the poplar and oak used to produce the Strasburg “Pallets”. This was not the easiest task.

Through the years as families grew and employees increased so did the demand for pallets. The Beilers found a way to integrate sharing values from the Amish culture as well as the modern English culture. This allowed the company to meet supply and demand while holding onto the core values of Strasburg Pallet Company. In the early 90’s John Beiler’s son, Mervin at the age of 14, also followed in his father’s footsteps and came to work at the pallet company. Three generations serving together to continue to build the company to what it has become today. In 2022 Reuben passed away leaving a legacy of hard work and dedication. Sharing many years of work with some of the same employees that are still employed here today. Reuben & John’s creativity and inventive thoughts still drive his grandson Merv to continue this family tradition. It gives him the courage to stand on a firm foundation that was built over 60 years ago. But to also encourage new growth, inspire new technology, practice safety, and continue with the best quality product with well-qualified employees.
